In Mnongwa Village, T/A Chadza, Lilongwe, Tsambalikagwa Club is planting 30kg of Tikolore soyabean seed on a 1-acre winter plot. This is a critical pilot for El Niño preparedness. By multiplying seed during the dry season, these farmers are securing a resilient, local seed supply well ahead of the unpredictable rains next season.
This seed isn’t a new handout. It is the direct repayment from last season’s beneficiaries under our seed revolving scheme, originally backed by Agri-Impact Malawi with support from The Egmont Trust. Once harvested, this yield will go right back into the scheme to support even more clubs.
By turning past returns into winter climate defence, this community is taking full control of its food security.
